Aligned Men
Delete your account
Last updated October 8, 2026
You can delete your Aligned account yourself in the app, or ask us to do it by email. Deleting it is immediate and permanent.
In the app
- Open Aligned (version 0.3.3 or later) and go to your profile.
- Tap the gear to open Settings, and find Privacy & Data.
- Tap Delete account, read what it says, type DELETE and confirm.
Your account is deleted at once and you are signed out. It cannot be restored.
By email
Email privacy@aligned.men from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We delete it the same way within 30 days.
What is deleted
Your profile and photos; your answers and the matching data worked out from them; your posts, comments, likes, follows, matches and unlocks; your RSVPs; your card link; your notifications; reports you filed and reports about you; your waitlist entry; and your sign-in. Events you host outside a project are deleted, and a project you own with no other team members (only you, or only supporters) is deleted with its events.
What stays, without your account
- Messages you sent stay with the people you sent them to, and in The Commons, shown as “Deleted member”. A direct message with a member either of you had blocked is deleted instead.
- A comment of yours on another member's post that someone replied to stays as “[deleted]”, with no author, so their reply still makes sense. Your own posts are deleted with all their comments.
- A project you own that has other team members passes to the team member who joined it first.
- Referral counts other members earned stay, without your account. Your invite link stops counting toward anyone.
- Other members' own posts and messages stay, including any mention of your name.
Your blocks are removed with your account, so a member you had blocked, or who had blocked you, may then see the messages and placeholders that stay, shown without your name.
How long it takes
Your account data is deleted at once; your sign-in, your other photos and your push-notification registration within minutes. Photos on messages that stay, and a transferred project's images, stay with them. Copies in our providers' backups and logs age out on their own schedules, and are never used to bring an account back. How we handle your data while your account exists is in the privacy policy.
