Aligned Men
Terms of Service

These are the rules for using Aligned Men. They are written to be read, not to be skipped. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Who can join
You must be at least 16 years old to use Aligned Men. You may hold one account, it must be yours, and the information on it must be true. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not create an account for someone else.
Aligned Men is built for men looking to build alongside other men. We may decline or close any account at our discretion.
2. Your account
Keep your login credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
3. How to behave
The service depends on people being straight with each other. Do not:
- harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another member, on or off the platform;
- post anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or designed to incite violence;
- misrepresent who you are, what you have done, or what you are building;
- use Aligned Men to spam, recruit for a scheme, solicit investment fraudulently, or run a commercial pitch at people who did not ask;
- scrape, bulk-export, or resell other members' information, or try to work out anyone's precise location;
- probe, overload, or interfere with the service or the accounts of others.
Report anything that crosses these lines. We investigate reports and may remove content or close accounts without notice when the situation calls for it.
4. What you post stays yours
You keep ownership of your profile, projects, posts, comments, photos, and messages. You give us permission to store, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating Aligned Men — showing your profile to matches, rendering your posts in the feed, and so on. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already made by other members and for backups that age out on their normal schedule.
You are responsible for having the right to post what you post, including photos.
5. Matching, and what it is not
Alignment scores, match explanations, and parts of your profile summary are generated by software, including a language model. They are an informed guess. They can be wrong, they can be oddly worded, and they are not a judgement of anyone's character or a vetting of anyone's claims.
We do not perform background checks on members. A high alignment score means two profiles look compatible. It does not mean the other person is who they say they are.
6. Meeting people in person
Aligned Men is designed to lead to real meetings, so this deserves saying plainly: you meet other members at your own risk. Meet in public first. Tell someone where you are going. Do not send money to someone you met here. Do not share financial details.
We are not a party to what happens between members, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member, online or off.
7. The service will change
Aligned Men is early and under active development. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. We do not promise uninterrupted access.
8. Third-party services
The app relies on outside providers for sign-in, maps, notifications, and matching. Links posted by members lead off the platform. We do not control any of that, and we are not responsible for it. Which providers receive what is set out in the Privacy Policy.
9. Ending it
You can stop using Aligned Men at any time. To have your account and its data deleted, email privacy@aligned.men from the address on your account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other members at risk.
10. Disclaimers and limits
Aligned Men is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that matches will be suitable, or that any member is trustworthy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunity, arising from your use of Aligned Men or your interactions with other members. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Disputes
If you have a problem with us, email privacy@aligned.men first. Most things are resolved that way, and we would rather sort it out directly than formally.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app. Continuing to use Aligned Men after a change means you accept it.
